Planning alone compared with travelling with Karakoram

    Planning it alone

Trips unravel when bookings live in different chats and nobody owns the plan.

    • Hotel and transport quotes scattered across chats
    • Drivers unfamiliar with mountain roads
    • No plan B when flights or roads close
    • Hidden costs that appear mid-trip

    With Karakoram

One plan for every traveller, from family holidays to expeditions.

    • Families

Gentle drives, comfortable stays and short walks: Hunza's forts, Attabad Lake and Naltar's coloured lakes, paced for children and grandparents.

    Questions travellers ask us

When is the best time to visit Gilgit-Baltistan?

April to October is ideal for most of Gilgit-Baltistan. April brings cherry blossom in Hunza, June to September is best for Fairy Meadows, Deosai and high treks, and October offers golden autumn colours.

    Is Gilgit-Baltistan safe for tourists?

Gilgit-Baltistan is known for its welcoming communities and is visited by thousands of domestic and international travellers every year. We plan routes around current road and weather conditions and travel with experienced local drivers and guides.

Do foreigners need a permit to visit?

Most tourist areas such as Hunza, Skardu and Fairy Meadows do not require a special permit for foreign visitors with a valid Pakistani visa. Restricted zones and mountaineering peaks, including K2 Base Camp, require trekking permits, which we arrange for you.

Can you customise a tour for my family or group?

Yes. Every itinerary can be tailored to your dates, pace, budget and interests. Use the trip planner and our team will send you a personalised plan.

Should I fly or drive to Gilgit-Baltistan?

Flights from Islamabad to Gilgit and Skardu are the quickest but depend on weather. Driving the Karakoram Highway takes longer but is an unforgettable part of the journey. We often combine both to keep your plans flexible.
